Well, it was interesting last Sunday.
It all started at 3:50 am when the phone rang in our home. If the phone rings so early in the morning it could mean only two things. First is that my grandmother got confused about the time zone again and is trying to call me thinking that it's lunch time or the alarm at The Salvation Army Corps here in Puyallup went off and the security company is trying to reach me. Well the second was true. After trying to remember the passwords, getting dressed and trying to find my shoes, I started driving to the church to find out if a thief tried to enter the building. Everything was quiet with no signs of entry, so I thanked God for protecting our church again and returned home to sleep for a few hours before the worship service.
9:00 am was time to go back to church, set up the computer and chapel for service and only to learn that the person who was supposed to do some pickups was sick. It took a few minutes to reorganize the pickup, meanwhile I found out computer wasn't working. If only I could restart this day just like the computer which is not working, life would be great. But life is not like that. Figuring out pickups and what is wrong with a computer is an interesting combination.
9:45am All done and the pickup was happening, computer restarted and worked and it looks like everything was good and fine.
10:55 am Charity came to me and showed me her swollen hand. She got bitten by something unknown and had an allergic reaction. Looking at her hand I feel even worse. Our best musician wouldn't be able to play.
11:15 am Charity held on and with God's grace managed to play through worship.
11:45 am My sermon started and it seemed like everything was under control. But Charity's condition got worse and she had to go to the ER with problems breathing. Thanks for a great congregation who could manage to help her while others continued listening to the sermon.
12:10 pm Service finished. People split the responsibilities and I went to the hospital to find out what happened with Charity
1:30 pm We were still sitting in the Emergency Room and it looked like we would have to still be there for awhile.
1:35 pm My mother was due to arrive at SeaTac airport and I was starting to worry how I would find her when I arrive late to the airport and she doesn't speak English. We decided that while Charity is waiting in the ER I would go with my son to the airport trying to locate my mother.
2:00 pm Drove to the airport in terrible traffic. My son missed lunch, was really hunger and
begged for food while we were stuck on the freeway. At that point the following
Bible verse came to me:
1 Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
How much more can happen today?
2:30 Arrived at the airport and things started looking better. My mom's flight was delayed and we were on time to pick her up at 3:00 pm.
3:40 pm I arrived in Puyallup with my mom, Charity was back from the hospital and doing fine. Samuel managed to get a doughnut on the way and was happy too. After almost 12 hours from beginning to end, all was good and well. We serve the great God!
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.
2 Thessalonians 3:16
In His Service,
Premek
